Junk Jewelry, Stitch Collage + Friday Cat Photos (Grumpy Cats)
This has been a fun mail week as I ordered 20lbs of junk jewelry to work on some new stitch collages and art quilts and harvest for beads.
Here is a picture of the box of jewelry when I opened it:

It may not look like much, but I actually pulled out some really nice things - a sterling silver necklace and a turquoise pendant being some of the biggest highlights. I also deconstructed a ton of necklaces that yielded me over 108+ different types of beads so that will be a lot of fun to incorporate into new Story Strands bracelets and adding beading to my stitch collages.
It’s been awhile since I‘ve done anything with fabric and thread so it has really been fun to get back into it, even if my stitching is a bit wonky.
New Stitch Collage in Progress: Riverside Theme

This is my current project I started working on a few weeks ago and I am really happy with how it is coming along! I still have so much to add to it (especially more embellishments - I haven’t even added buttons or beads yet!)
The theme of the collage is river side living - because that is our dream one day is to live along some water somewhere where we can lookfor cool pebbles and shells or go fishing or just enjoy the view!
Here are some close-ups:

It is so fun to make these so I can’t wait to keep adding to it. It is the perfect activity to do while Ray and I watch football together!
Grumpy Cat Photos
The cats were all grumpy and hot and lazy this week so I did not really get many great photos of them. I snapped this one of Zera last night and she just looks irritated that it is so hot. September hasn’t quite caught on that we are all ready for cooler fall weather now!

I also snagged a photo of Crystal, and she sort of always looks angry, even when sleeping. She’s a beautiful cat but she is also mean if you don’t do exactly as she says lol.

Next, we have Enchilada, who is upset I interrupted her nap to take a photo.

Taco decided to beat the heat by hanging out with us at the pool. We haven’t closed it yet so we still might have another week or two of swimming.

I did manage to get a good one of him yawning also - these ones always crack me up because it makes the cats look like ferocious beasts when in fact they are just sleepy.

Lastly, I have Burrito, who can sleep through pretty much anything. He doesn’t mind one bit when I take photos of him curled up sleeping in his favorite box.

I hope you have a great weekend and of course if you have a cat you would like featured on our weekly Friday posts or want to learn more about anything we are doing, just ask in the comments below or email me anytime hello@chellestein.com. See ya next week!
